Classic Bells Rip Curl Pro Final

The 2011 Easter Bells Rip Curls Pro final was contested by 2 time World Surfing Champ, Mick Fanning and the best surfer to have never won an ASP World Surfing title, Joel Parkinson.

It was contested in consistent six to eight foot classic Bells Beach conditions with surfing of the highest quality by both Fanning and Parkinson.

Joel Parkinson or Parko as he is known sealed the 2011 Rip Curl Bells Easter 50th Anniversary with a perfect 10 on his final wave.  Parkinson used his priority to take the wave from Fanning who had just caught it prior to Parko.  Fanning was already in a combo meaning he still needed 2 high scoring waves to better Parkinson’s best two wave score.

This years Bells Rip Curl Pro has special meaning as it is the 50th year the competition has been run at the iconic Bells Beach.  And mother nature certainly didn’t let the event down offering up almost perfect conditions for the entire Bell Rip Curl Pro run over the Easter long weekend.

The worlds top male and female surfers performed to a very high and entertaining standard the entire event which was capped off by both Joel Parkinson and Mick Fanning in the mens final.

An expression session was run prior to the mens final which saw past Bells surfing champions, which included Simon Anderson, Tom Curren, Martin Potter, Damien Hardman and of course Kelly SlatBells Rip Curl Proer who was knocked out in the quarter final of this years Bells Rip Curl Pro.  He did however pull off an incredible 360 air reverse on an 8 foot Bells Beach bowl that brought the huge crowd to its feet.
